The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time executive role at the heart of Progress Group's operations. In addition to owning the firm's internal financial function, the CFO will serve as the embedded financial lead across a portfolio of client engagements — spanning technology companies and established enterprises. This individual must be a seasoned financial operator who thrives in dynamic environments, manages multiple mandates simultaneously, and is equally comfortable building financial infrastructure as driving strategic direction.
This is a high-impact, dual-mandate role. Internally, you will own Progress Group's financial health. Externally, you will represent Progress Group as a trusted CFO-level partner to our clients — a critical driver of our rapidly growing fractional CFO service line.
Internal — Progress Group Financial Leadership:
- Own all aspects of Progress Group's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Oversee financial controls, compliance, audit, and risk management for the firm.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on firm-level strategy, pricing, profitability, and investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support Progress Group's growth and business planning.
Client-Facing — Fractional CFO Services:
- Serve as the embedded CFO for a portfolio of client engagements across technology companies and general businesses simultaneously.
- Lead client-side financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Drive growth and expansion strategy — capital allocation, scenario modelling, M&A analysis, and investment decisions.
- Manage financial reporting, KPI dashboards, and board-level financial communications on behalf of clients.
- Identify and resolve financial risk, compliance gaps, and process deficiencies within client organizations.
- Support client fundraising preparation, investor relations, and due diligence processes as required.
- Build and mentor client finance teams, establishing scalable financial infrastructure and internal controls.
Cross-Cutting:
- Make rapid, high-quality financial decisions across multiple mandates in dynamic, fast-evolving environments.
- Pivot financial strategy and recommendations fluidly as business conditions shift — for both Progress Group and its clients.
