We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Autism Day Program. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to enhance patients' functional abilities and improve their quality of life. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop tailored occupational therapy plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving daily living skills, motor functions, and overall independence
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and social workers to coordinate patient care strategies
- Manage caseloads effectively by prioritizing patient needs and documenting progress meticulously
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy
- Must be able to work at the centre Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm
Qualifications
- Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience working in hospital settings with a focus on patient care and rehabilitation
- Strong case management skills to organize treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice
- Prior experience in acute care environments is preferred to handle complex cases effectively
- Excellent communication skills to engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively
