Position Summary
Ajax Public Library is currently recruiting for one (1) temporary Cleaner position (part-time). Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Safety and Operations and in a manner that is consistent with the Ajax Public Library’s overall visions and goals, the Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Library facilities.
Education and Experience
- Secondary School diploma
- Minimum three months’ relevant cleaning experience
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures, operation of floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and various cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal safety equipment and clothing.
Position Responsibilities
- Sweeps, washes and strips floors.
- Vacuums, empties garbage, washes windows and doors.
- Cleans washrooms, community rooms and common areas.
- Perform room set-up and take down for functions and programs and cleans room after function or program has ended.
- Liaises with the public to provide basic information regarding the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
