Modersy Interior Ltd. is a Calgary-based manufacturer of custom kitchen cabinetry and architectural millwork, serving residential and commercial clients throughout the region. Our team of about 30 people designs, builds, and installs high-quality, made-to-order cabinetry and millwork for projects across Calgary and the surrounding area. We're looking for a dependable Delivery Driver / Material Handler to help get that work safely from our shop to job sites.
Job Summary
Modersy Interior Ltd. is hiring a full-time Delivery Driver / Material Handler to transport finished cabinetry, millwork, and related materials between our shop and job sites, and to support material handling in the shop when deliveries are not scheduled. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires care when handling finished products and comfort working in both a manufacturing shop and on active construction sites. Hours vary with delivery volume, installation schedules, and project deadlines, and the employee must be available to start earlier or finish later when the work requires it.
Responsibilities
- Deliver kitchen cabinets, millwork, materials, and related products to job sites
- Load and unload the delivery vehicle
- Handle finished cabinetry and millwork carefully to prevent damage
- Secure loads properly before transportation
- Help move materials around the shop when deliveries are not scheduled
- Work with cabinetmakers, installers, project managers, and production staff to coordinate deliveries and job-site needs
- Complete delivery documentation and confirm that materials have arrived at the correct location
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
- Follow company safety procedures and job-site requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence
- Safe driving history; must be able to provide a driver's abstract if requested
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to repeatedly lift, carry, load, and unload items weighing up to 100 lbs
- Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work longer days when deliveries, installations, or project deadlines require it
- Able to follow delivery instructions and communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and coworkers
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Careful and detail-oriented when handling finished products
- Comfortable working in both a manufacturing shop environment and on active construction sites
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving a delivery van or truck
- Experience delivering cabinets, furniture, construction materials, appliances, or other large or bulky products
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. The employee must be able to repeatedly lift, carry, load, and unload items weighing up to 100 lbs, in the shop and on job sites, throughout the workday. The regular schedule is approximately 44 hours per week, but hours are not fixed: they will vary based on delivery volume, installation schedules, and project deadlines. The employee must be available to start earlier or finish later than a standard shift when deliveries, installations, or project deadlines require it.
Compensation and Hours
- Wage: $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience
- Employment type: Full-time, approximately 44 hours per week
- Overtime is compensated where applicable, in accordance with Alberta employment standards
