Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within a large-scale industrial plant environment. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and leading a multidisciplinary team delivering 24/7 plant support.
This is a high-impact leadership position ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, proven team leadership, and a track record of improving plant performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with business goals and financial targets
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical, electrical, and controls professionals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and operational excellence
Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance scheduling, including preventive, predictive, and planned outages
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and plant efficiency through effective planning
- Manage CMMS systems and asset management programs
Budgeting & Resource Management
- Develop and manage maintenance operating and capital budgets
- Oversee inventory, warehousing, and spare parts management
- Evaluate contractor requirements and manage vendor relationships
Safety & Compliance
- Champion safety and environmental programs, ensuring full regulatory compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and EHS teams for daily coordination and long-term planning
- Support company-wide initiatives, policies, and continuous improvement efforts
QualificationsRequired
- Red Seal Certification (Electrical, Millwright, or related trade) or in progress
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting (supervisory experience preferred)
- Strong leadership experience managing technical teams
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
Preferred / Assets
- Power Engineering Certification or MMP / CMRP designation
- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, or I&C)
- Experience in thermal power plants, including boiler and steam turbine systems
- Strong knowledge of maintenance budgeting, inventory control, and cost analysis
Work Environment
- Industrial plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and equipment
- Use of PPE required, including respirators when necessary
- Work at heights, confined spaces, and industrial settings may be required
- Occasional travel to other sites
