The "Shop Tech" is the backbone of our operations. Before a show ever hits the stage, it has to be tested, prepped, and packed correctly in the warehouse. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with gear, solving technical puzzles, and keeping a high-paced shop running smoothly.
You will be responsible for ensuring our inventory is show-ready, organized, and safely loaded for transport. If you like "how things work" and take pride in a perfectly organized trailer, this is your role.
Training & Growth
While previous experience is valued, we are fully open to individuals who are eager to learn.** If you are a fast learner with a mechanical mind and a passion for the live production industry, we will train you on the specific technical aspects of our professional AV inventory
Key Responsibilities
* **Inventory Prep:** Pulling and "prepping" equipment lists for upcoming shows. Ensuring every cable, clamp, and flight case on the manifest is accounted for.
* **Gear Maintenance:** Performing basic testing and minor repairs on audio, lighting, and video equipment. Identifying damaged gear and coordinating fixes.
* **Shop Organization:** Maintaining a clean, efficient warehouse. Implementing and following systems for cable management and tool storage.
* **Loading & Logistics:** Leading the strategic loading of vans, trucks, and trailers to ensure equipment safety and space efficiency. Driving company vehicles to drop-off/pickup points.
* **Data Management:** Updating inventory counts and status reports using Google Sheets and Docs. Ensuring digital "pack lists" match the physical gear.
What You Bring to the Table
* **Technical Aptitude:** A basic understanding of musical gear (amps, speakers, instruments) and a curiosity for how electronics and electrical systems work.
* **Physical Capability:** Ability to lift and maneuver heavy road cases and equipment (50+ lbs) and stay active throughout the day.
* **Logistics Mindset:** Experience (or high comfort level) driving trucks/vans and maneuvering trailers.
* **Reliability:** You have your own vehicle to get to the shop and a track record of being on time.
* **Computer Skills:** Comfortable using Google Drive and computers for inventory tracking and communication.
Preferred Experience & Skills
We are looking for a "handy" individual. Experience in the following is a massive plus:
* **Electrical/Electronics:** Soldering, cable testing, or basic troubleshooting of circuit boards.
* **Construction/Trades:** Comfortable with power tools and building custom shop solutions (shelving, workbenches, etc.).
* **Live Production:** Any previous time spent behind a soundboard, lighting console, or on a stage crew.
*We appreciate all applications; however, only those moving forward to the interview stage will be contacted.*
