Job Description
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic team player who has the motivation to succeed and contribute to the opportunities for growth within our company. The successful candidate will contribute to supervising daily accounting operations, ensuring effective and accurate processing of data and paperwork. The ideal candidate will also be expected to perform financial analytics of our billings, payroll, and various reports. This individual should readily adapt to changing conditions and continuous improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not considered complete or limited to):
- Reconcile all invoicing on a weekly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Review unbilled revenue for reasonableness and work with the billing staff to reduce it when possible.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on delinquent accounts.
- Perform account reconciliations for customers with abnormal billing and/or payment activity.
- Implement efficient work processes and co-ordinate, assign and review that processes are properly recorded and entered into the computerized system.
- Monitor and verify accuracy of work processes for all accounting functions.
- Establish work schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
- Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports.
- Communicate and coordinate with customers when resolving any discrepancies.
- Work with the Controller and/or the General Manager on collecting and analyzing costing and billing data.
- Identify training needs and train workers in job duties and company policies.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard efficiency and accuracy.
- Select potential new hires and participate in the interviews. Select the best candidate for hire.
- Prepare and conduct performance reviews as required.
- May perform the same duties as workers supervised.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation preferred or in progress (e.g., CPA, CGA, or equivalent)
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a senior accounting, accounting lead, or supervisory role
