We are looking to hire a talented Second Cook to assist with food prep and service of our Lounge and Banquet space.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares, cooks and presents food as detailed on appropriate requisition forms, function sheets, or server’s checks according to specified standards
- Ensures the security and control of all food stocks used in the kitchen to ensure as little wastage as possible
- Ensures quality, quantity, and presentation of all food prepared and cooked meets hotel and restaurant standards for freshness, appearance, and consistency
- Adheres to quality and industry standards when completing work
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships within own and other departments
- Carries out duties to ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times
- Demonstrates a superior customer service attitude with internal/external contacts
- Other duties, as required
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year's experience cooking on a line
- Catering experience
- Foodsafe certification preferred
- Good communication skills
- Effective multi-tasking is demonstrated by the ability to complete various tasks, in a priority sequence with a positive outcome
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making ability demonstrated by adequate solutions to presented problems
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment required
