As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking one or more talented lawyers (ideally 3-5 years of litigation work, and preferably in family law field), who are looking to build a long-term career in a collaborative and supportive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys advocacy, has strong litigation skills, and wants to contribute to the team, while also wanting to develop their own practice while benefiting from the support of an experienced and well-established team.
About the Role
You will manage your own files while working closely with experienced counsel on a broad range of family law matters, including:
- Parenting and guardianship disputes
- Property division and trusts
- Child and spousal support
- Relocation matters
- Protection orders
- High-conflict litigation
- Mediation and settlement negotiations
- Chambers applications and trials
You will have the opportunity to appear regularly before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience is ideal, and with family law experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
- Confidence managing files independently, and under supervision.
- Excellent time management skills, and demonstrated ability to deliver on prompt timelines.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills.
- A client-focused, practical approach to problem solving.
- Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a positive team culture, and the firm brand.
