Position Summary
Join our North Vancouver-based accounting team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a stickler for details and organized. You will report directly to the Senior accountant and will work with all members across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Check and distribute mail
- Check invoices sent by e-mail
- Process high volume full cycle accounts payable
- Code invoices
- Digitally/manually distribute invoices for approval
- Enter invoices into accounting software once approved
- Prepare Credit Applications as needed
- Code credit cards, ensure receipts are attached for all expenditures and obtain approvals for payment.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end procedures as required
- Monthly Visa statements reconciliation and recording to the accounting software
- Assist FNESS employees with travel claim processing, ensuring expenses are valid and approved
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to the internal business affairs of FNESS.
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in accounting or relevant experience.
- 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Accounts Payable.
- A strong work ethic, attention to details and excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A team player who works well in a collaborative environment
- Proficient in using accounting software, including Sage 50, ADP and MS Office products, particularly Excel
- A willingness to ask questions and find solutions
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations is preferred
- Criminal Record check including Vulnerable Sector check
Position Type: On-Call Casual Employment Agreement
Location: North Vancouver
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (25 to 37.5 hours per week)
Compensation: $27.00 per hour plus %6 vacation pay
