Sous Chef
The Long Shot Pub – Christina Lake, BC
The Long Shot Pub is looking for a motivated and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team for the upcoming busy season, with potential for permanent year-round employment for the right candidate. We are a fast-paced community pub focused on quality food, teamwork, and creating a positive kitchen culture.
We are open to hiring:
- Full-time or part-time
- Permanent or seasonal
- Experienced cooks ready to step into a leadership role
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily kitchen operations and service
- Support kitchen leadership with prep, line cooking, and coordination
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Help oversee prep lists, inventory, ordering, and waste control
- Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are followed
- Assist with training and mentoring kitchen staff
- Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
- Breakfast, if possible, 1 day per week during busy season
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or sous chef experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Food safe certificate
- Culinary schooling an asset
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
