Job Summary:
We are seeking a certified and detail-oriented NDT Inspector – Liquid Penetrant (PT Level II) to support inspection activities within our manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing non-destructive testing to ensure components meet customer, regulatory, and industry standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of aerospace inspection requirements, is highly detail-driven, and is comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and ensuring compliance across all inspected components.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Testing
- Perform Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT) on detail parts in accordance with:
- CGSB
- NAS-410
- Customer-specific requirements
- Inspect components as prioritized within the company ERP system
- Interpret inspection results and identify defects or non-conformances
- Ensure all inspections meet applicable aerospace and quality standards
Ultrasonic Testing (Asset)
- Perform or support Ultrasonic Testing (UT) where applicable
- Conduct inspections related to:
- Bond integrity of metal bondments
- Composite structures
- Interpret A-scan and C-scan data and compare to reference standards
- Support advanced NDT processes as required
Production & Quality Support
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure timely inspections
- Support production flow by completing inspections in line with schedule priorities
- Identify and escalate quality concerns or recurring defects
- Assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions when required
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately record inspection results and maintain traceability
- Ensure all inspection documentation meets internal and customer requirements
- Maintain certification records and comply with applicable standards
- Follow all safety procedures and handling requirements for inspection materials
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Provide feedback on inspection processes and potential efficiencies
- Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory) as required
- Collaborate across departments to maintain quality and delivery performance
Qualifications / Experience
- Certified Level II Liquid Penetrant Inspector (PT) in accordance with:
- CGSB
- NAS-410
- or equivalent aerospace standard
- Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods and standards
- Experience with ERP systems for work prioritization and tracking
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Certification or experience in Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Experience with:
- Bond integrity inspection (metal or composite structures)
- A-scan / C-scan analysis
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, processes, and quality systems
