Scw'exmx Community Health Services Society (SCHSS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to fill a full time Community Health Nurse position; an individual who wants to build relationships, strengthen wellness, and be part of something meaningful.
Within the CHN role, the nurse will plan, provide, and evaluate primary health services for the local communities. Primary responsibilities focus on health promotion, health protection, disease and injury prevention, health surveillance, population health assessment, as well as emergency preparedness and response in the event of a communicable disease outbreak. The position will also provide services such as: prenatal education, newborn and infant assessments, and immunization program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing from a Canadian university or equivalent
- Must be registered or eligible to be registered with BCCNM
- Training / Experience in community health nursing an asset
- BCCDC Immunization certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid CPR C ticket (or equivalent)
- Valid BC drivers' license
- Knowledge of First Nations history and traditions an asset
- Satisfactory criminal records check
