Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our team in Payroll Department to assist with the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll. This role is responsible for reviewing payroll information, maintaining employee records, entering payroll data, responding to employee inquiries, and ensuring payroll documentation is complete and accurate.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare reports related to payroll activities.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing and tax filings.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Support onboarding processes related to payroll setup.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Perform filing, scanning, and other payroll administrative duties.
- Accounting Support:
- Reconcile, prepare and post journal entries related to company credit card/visa transactions.
- Manage and apply accounts receivable (AR) deposits.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures and relevant legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Good communication skills.
- Post-secondary education preferred, Diploma or certificate in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in the construction or heavy civil industry is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
