Keep Our Teams Safe, Keep Our Standards High
We don’t just meet safety standards—we set them. As Health & Safety Manager, your job is to make sure our people go home safe every day with innovation and efficiency. The work is technical, fast-moving, and high-stakes. Our Health & Safety Manager owns the program that keeps it all running safely. You’ll take the lead on safety training, compliance, and on-site hazard control.
Job Details:
- Location: Northern Ontario, with travel across active mine sites like Red Lake, Dryden, Kenora, Geraldton, Thunder Bay, and Timmins
- Schedule: Mix of on-site work with 12 hour shifts of 14-on/14-off rotations, and working from home for office work
- Salary Range: $105,000-$125,000/year + performance bonuses + benefits package + company truck
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll develop and lead EnviroTEM's health and safety management system from the ground up. That means writing Safe Job Procedures, building COR certification readiness (IHSA COR 2020), designing Job Hazard Analyses for mine site operations, and keeping Emergency Response Plans current across every active site.
On the compliance side, you'll manage OHSA and Mining Act obligations, handle WSIB reporting and claims, run internal audits, and prepare for MOL inspections. You'll track the metrics that matter: TRIR, LTIR, near-miss frequency, corrective action completion.
You'll manage the Trainer directly, setting priorities and standards for all mandatory certifications: WHMIS, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Working at Heights, high-pressure water safety. Every crew member on every site needs to be competent and current. That accountability sits with you.
When incidents happen, you lead the investigation. Root cause analysis, corrective action plans, follow-up verification. You report findings directly to the Operations Manager and VP, and you close the loop.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of safety management experience in mining, industrial services, or heavy construction
- Direct experience with hydrovac, vacuum truck, or high-pressure water operations (strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of Ontario's OHSA, Mining Act regulations, and WSIB
- CRSP or CRST designation (preferred)
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience with COR certification programs and safety management system auditing
- Certified in incident investigation methodology: TapRooT, ICAM, or equivalent
- Comfortable on-site and in the field, across Northern Ontario
