We have an exciting opportunity for a legal administrative assistant in our Litigation department. Duties of this role include but are not limited to:
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Scheduling examinations, applications, court dates, mediations, and trials
- Preparing bills and invoices
- Managing bring-forward system and ensuring deadlines are met
- Collaborating with colleagues and clients on file progress
- Communicating with clients
- Reviewing and organizing medical briefs
- Managing files through all stages of the legal process
- Maintaining client files
- Managing lawyers’ calendars
- Scheduling meetings and appointments
- Making travel arrangements and reservations
- Other administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience working in litigation
- Completion of a Legal Assistant program, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of BC court rules and procedures
- Superb communication skills with proven ability to interact tactfully and be personable
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized, and able to manage and anticipate competing priorities
- Have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently
*Please note that salary is commensurate with experience.
Pay: $46,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
