Intelligent Sound & Vision (ISV) is seeking an experienced Senior AV Installation Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for delivering high-end residential and commercial AV, networking, lighting control, and automation projects throughout the GTA.

What You'll Do
As the Senior AV Installation Technician, you will serve as the on-site technical lead, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead on-site installation teams from rough-in through final commissioning.
- Assign daily tasks and oversee technicians to ensure quality workmanship and productivity.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to maintain project schedules and site progress.
- Work closely with builders, electricians, designers, and other trades.
- Mentor and train junior technicians while promoting company standards and best practices.
- Ensure job sites remain organized, professional, and compliant with safety requirements.
- Manage project materials, tools, and inventory on site.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, redlines, site photos, and progress updates.
Installation & Technical Responsibilities
- Install and commission luxury residential and commercial AV and automation systems.
- Build, wire, label, and organize professional AV equipment racks to company standards.
- Install displays, projectors, distributed audio systems, speakers, surveillance cameras, access control devices, and motorized equipment.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, managed switches, wireless access points, VLANs, and network infrastructure.
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot Crestron control systems and hardware.
- Install and commission Lutron lighting and shading systems, including HomeWorks and RadioRA.
- Perform complete system testing, commissioning, quality control, and client handover.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues independently in the field.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who brings both strong technical expertise and leadership experience.
Required
- 8+ years of experience installing luxury residential and/or commercial AV systems.
- Extensive experience with Crestron control systems and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of Lutron HomeWorks, RadioRA, and lighting control systems.
- Advanced networking knowledge, including IP addressing, managed switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi optimization, and network troubleshooting.
- Proven experience building clean, organized, and serviceable AV equipment racks.
- Strong understanding of audio/video distribution systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading installation crews and coordinating projects alongside Project Managers.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Certifications
- Crestron Certified Technician or Programmer
- Lutron Certification
- AVIXA CTS Certification
- Networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, Cisco, Ubiquiti, etc.) are considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders and active construction sites.
- Ability to work in residential and commercial construction environments.
