Key Responsibilities
- Lead client consultations, site assessments, and design direction
- Develop creative, functional, and buildable landscape designs
- Prepare detailed design packages including drawings, renderings, and construction plans
- Present concepts and revisions to clients professionally
- Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure design intent is executed
- Prepare takeoffs, estimates, and assist in project budgeting
- Review site conditions and participate in site visits
- Ensure compliance with municipal requirements and permit processes
- Mentor junior designers and support team development
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial landscape design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating completed, buildable projects
- Technical Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Dynascape
- Enscape
- Adobe Photoshop
- Knowledge & Expertise in:
- City permit application processes and requirements
- Reading and interpreting grading plans
- Takeoffs and project estimation
- Hardscape materials and installation methods
- Plant knowledge and selection suited to Ontario climates
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)
