Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Painter / Prepper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint and finishes to vehicles, ensuring high-quality results that meet dealership standards. This role requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive environment. Prior dealership experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Mix and match paint colors accurately to achieve desired finishes
- Apply primer, base coats, clear coats, and other finishes using spray guns and hand tools
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, consistency, and defects; perform touch-ups as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely during the painting process
- Follow all safety protocols related to chemical handling, ventilation, and personal protective equipment
- Assist with minor automotive repairs as needed, leveraging mechanical knowledge
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience in automotive painting preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or materials
- Experience with automotive repair or mechanic work is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
Pay: $20.00-$50.00 per hour
