We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Hardware Associate to join our team. Preference will be given to applicants with strong knowledge or hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, hardware, and building materials. We are looking for someone confident assisting customers with home improvement and repair projects while providing knowledgeable and professional service.
Position Details:
- Full-time position, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Rotating weekends required (every other weekend)
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and provide courteous, professional service
- Assist customers with product selection, project planning, and locating merchandise
- Communicate product knowledge related to plumbing, electrical, hardware, tools, and building materials
- Assist customers in finding all items needed to complete their projects
- Process sales transactions and special orders
- Stock shelves and maintain organized displays and work areas
- Receive, replenish, and organize inventory
- Assist with merchandising, pricing, signage, and general housekeeping
- Help unload trucks and keep storage areas neat and orderly
- Assist customers with carrying large or heavy merchandise
- Operate equipment and tools safely, including key cutting and material cutting equipment where required
- Participate in inventory counts and restocking
- Follow all store safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties and assignments as required by management
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, hardware, or building materials considered a major asset
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy merchandise as required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and continue developing product knowledge
Reports directly to the Department Manager and/or Store Manager.
