Our Client is in the landscape industry specializing in landscape products manufacturing, and are seeking a Divisional Controller to join them. The role is in office 5 days a week in Georgetown.

About the Role:
As Divisional Controller, you will lead all financial management activities for the division, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and insightful analysis that drives operational and strategic outcomes. You will act as a trusted business partner to divisional leadership, translating financial data into actionable recommendations and guiding the division toward its profitability and growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full financial close process for the division, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Lead cost accounting activities, including product costing, standard cost updates, and detailed variance analysis to support operational efficiency and margin improvement.

Develop, manage, and monitor divisional budgets and forecasts, providing timely analysis of performance against plan and recommending corrective actions.

Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and compliance processes aligned with corporate policies and Canadian regulatory requirements.

Manage cash flow and working capital at the divisional level, optimizing inventory, receivables, and payables to support business needs and financial targets.

Produce and present financial performance reports and KPI dashboards to divisional and corporate leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

Serve as the primary finance business partner to operations, sales, and other functional leaders, supporting strategic planning, investment decisions, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Lead, coach, and develop the divisional finance team, setting clear expectations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high-quality financial support to the business.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a controller or senior finance leadership role within a divisional or business unit environment.

Strong expertise in cost accounting and variance analysis within a manufacturing or operationally complex setting.

Demonstrated capability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, including scenario analysis and performance tracking.

Advanced skills in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate clear insights to non-finance stakeholders.

Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.

Hands-on proficiency with ERP and financial systems, including the ability to optimize processes and reporting within those platforms.

Experience managing cash flow and working capital, with a track record of improving liquidity and operational efficiency.

Strong business partnering skills, able to challenge and support senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Proven leadership ability, including managing and developing finance staff in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with Canadian manufacturing or industrial businesses in Ontario.

Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and cost-optimization initiatives.

Exposure to multi-site or multi-entity reporting structures.

Experience implementing or upgrading ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

Background in developing and refining KPI frameworks for operational and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

CPA designation required.

Additional training or certification in management accounting, financial analysis, or internal controls considered an asset.

Ongoing professional development in Canadian regulatory and tax matters is advantageous.
