About the Role We are looking for an experienced, energetic and knowledgeable Physical Education Coach to lead the Kids Gym component of our multi-sport circuit sessions. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of coaching or PE instruction experience, a strong understanding of fundamental movement development, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate Physical Education sessions including fundamental movement drills, obstacle circuits, strength and coordination exercises, and skill-building games for children aged 2–12.
- Teach foundational movement skills including running, jumping, balancing, climbing, throwing, catching, and body-weight strength basics (squats, lunges, planks) in a fun, kid-friendly format.
- Progress children through age-appropriate agility, coordination, and conditioning activities that build athletic foundations across all sports.
- Manage groups of varying ages and ability levels and ensure every child is engaged, learning, and having fun.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging training environment at all times.
- Track and communicate individual athlete progress to the head coach and program coordinator.
- Set up and break down all training equipment before and after sessions.
- Follow all Active Hour safety protocols and session guidelines.
- Be a reliable, punctual, and positive role model for young athletes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience coaching or instructing Physical Education, fitness, gymnastics, or multi-sport programs for toddlers, kids, or adults.
- Athletic background at a school, college, club, or district level.
- Strong understanding of fundamental movement skills, exercise progressions, and age-appropriate physical development.
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
- High energy, patient, and able to keep young children focused and motivated.
- Reliable and punctual.
- First-aid certification or awareness is a plus.
- Must be willing to complete a background check.
