Part-Time Social Media ManagerThe Local
We’re looking for a creative, energetic, and organized Part-Time Social Media Manager to help grow The Local’s online presence and strengthen our brand voice across social platforms.
This role is perfect for someone who loves storytelling, creating engaging content, staying on top of trends, and confidently being on camera for reels and videos. We’re especially looking for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting small businesses and local makers, and who can help bring that community-focused energy into our brand online.
Position Details
- Part-time
- Up to 20 hours per week
- Flexible schedule with some on-site content days required
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow our Instagram and Facebook accounts
- Create engaging content including:
- Posts
- Stories
- Reels
- Short-form videos
- Plan and schedule monthly content calendars
- Create and manage social media ad campaigns
- Help develop and maintain The Local’s brand voice online
- Film and edit content for social media
- Be comfortable appearing on camera and becoming a recognizable face of The Local
- Create monthly email marketing campaigns/newsletters
- Monitor engagement, messages, and social media trends
- Collaborate with our team on promotions, events, and campaigns
Requirements
- Experience managing social media for a business or brand
- Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, and current social media trends
- Comfortable filming, speaking, and appearing in reels/videos
- Basic photo/video editing skills
- Creative eye for branding and storytelling
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong passion for supporting small businesses and local communities
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Must be able to travel between our two locations in:
- London
- Kitchener
Bonus If You Have
- Experience running Meta ads
- Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar tools
- Photography or videography experience
- Email marketing experience (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.)
