Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Edge Bander Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating edge banding machinery to produce high-quality finished products. This role requires a strong understanding of woodworking processes, CNC machinery, and quality control standards. The Edge Bander Operator will work closely with the production team to ensure efficient operation, safety, and adherence to specifications. Prior experience with CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Operate edge banding machines and related equipment to apply veneer, PVC, or other edging materials onto wood panels.
- Set up and adjust machinery according to project specifications, ensuring precise application and finish quality.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other manufacturing tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to accurately produce components.
- Utilize hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout the production process to ensure finished products meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with warehouse activities such as packaging finished products and operating forklifts when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Experience with Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Knowledge of woodworking machinery including press brake machines and welding equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for precise manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, basic math skills for measurements, and quality control procedures.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
