Quality Control Inspector
Optima Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support its precision manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on position for someone with a strong understanding of machining, blueprints, dimensional inspection, and measuring instruments. You will conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Perform final inspections of finished parts and products according to job-order requirements.
- Complete 100% inspections or random sampling inspections as specified.
- Inspect assembled products for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and conformance.
- Conduct first-piece inspections following machine setup.
- Perform ongoing in-process inspections to identify quality concerns early.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances, and customer specifications.
- Accurately use gauges and precision measuring instruments.
- Prepare inspection reports and supporting documentation for each job order.
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection records.
- Ensure inspection tools and gauges are properly maintained, stored, and organized.
- Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to production and quality leadership.
- Support customer-related quality documentation and communication when required.
- Work closely with machinists and production employees to help maintain consistent product quality.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in quality control, machining, or precision manufacturing.
- Machinist background or strong knowledge of machining processes.
- Knowledge of CNC equipment and operations.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools.
- Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
- Engineering, design, machining, or related technical education is considered an asset.
- Experience inspecting machined components is strongly preferred.
