This is a Monday to Friday position, 40 hours per week, and is a 12-month temporary contract.
Job Details:
The Sr. Coordinator, Payroll is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and year-end functions in accordance with company policies and government regulations. Duties include configuring and testing payroll data, system and compliance updates, processing and integrating acquisition pay balances and structures, and configuring system tables.
As a key member of the People & Culture (P&C) team, the Sr. Coordinator, Payroll will also collaborate closely with Finance, Benefits, and Operations to ensure seamless payroll administration, as well as maintain records, provide support for audits, reporting, and employee inquiries. This is a fast-paced role with broad exposure to multiple aspects of P&C and employee support.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Prepare and process semi-monthly, bi-weekly, weekly North American hourly & administrative payroll (Driver/Owner Operator/Shop/Washrack/Administrative)

Configure payroll setup and customizations, system testing and compliance updates on a regular basis
- Support the integration team for acquisitions such as open balances, implementing payroll tables, codes and other system configurations while maintaining compliance within that jurisdiction.
- Conduct quality control audits and ensure necessary compliance controls are in place.

Administer, balance and process year end data slips for CAN & US including T-4, RL1, W-2 & 1099-NEC slips

Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and related financial reporting.

Establish and maintain effective internal controls related to payroll operations.

Validate and ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll & P&C data and documentation

Administrate Record of Employments as legislated by Service Canada

Prepare and distribute reports to operations and answer employee & Manager inquiries as needed

Communicate with a variety of internal and external parties (government agencies, unions, field staff etc.)

Other duties and special projects as required
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of payroll experience
- Post-secondary education required.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate (PCP) / Certified Payroll Manager Designation (CPM) is considered an asset.
- UKG Pro experience is considered an asset
