Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Labourer to join our Stoney Creek operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our dump bay, fleet coordination, workshop organization, and equipment upkeep. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDump Bay Operations
- Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping of the dump bay.
- Treat wastewater using approved chemicals and follow all environmental and safety procedures.
- Monitor and maintain water treatment systems to ensure compliance with Ministry of the Environment (MOE) requirements.
- Sort and move waste into designated storage and pickup areas.
- Maintain accurate dump logs, and environmental documentation.
- Operate a skid steer (Bobcat) safely to move materials, bins, and waste.
Fleet & Equipment Maintenance
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance and repairs for company vehicles and equipment.
- Keep fleet vehicles clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.
- Perform routine inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and ready for daily operations.
Shop Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop.
- Organize tools, equipment, and materials.
- Remove debris, garbage, and other hazards from the facility.
- Assist with general labour and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating a skid steer.
- Comfortable handling and using water treatment chemicals while following proper safety procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift heavy materials when required.
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
