Job Overview
We are urgently seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary team of a mid-sized resort in the Lake of Bays area. Candidates must have previous kitchen leadership experience and be comfortable in a fast-pased, high-volume environment.

This is a contract position that goes until October, with potential for renewal in subsequent years.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet quality standards
- Lead and manage the culinary team, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Develop menus in collaboration with management that align with reort concept and customer preferences
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
- Serve as a key point of contact for staff and customers to address any issues or special requests
- Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a resort, hotel or similar hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead diverse staff members effectively
- Strong restaurant management knowledge including inventory control, cost management, and staff scheduling
- Deep understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
Pay: $8,000.00-$10,000.00 per month
