King Asphalt Maintenance has been locally owned and operated since 2018, providing professional asphalt paving and maintenance services to Hamilton, Ancaster and all surrounding areas.
An Asphalt Raker is responsible for spreading, leveling, and compacting asphalt to precise specifications, ensuring smooth and durable surfaces. Tasks include handling heavy machinery, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the asphalt rake to distribute asphalt evenly on surfaces
- Ensure that the asphalt is raked to the desired level and thickness
- Perform daily maintenance of the asphalt rake, including cleaning and sharpening
- Assist the asphalt paving crew in other tasks as needed, such as shoveling or compacting
- Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to ensure a smooth paving process
- Experience in asphalt paving and knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the process
- Attention to detail for ensuring the quality of work and adherence to safety protocols
The role of this position is to also provide support to the paving operations and the team through the operation of a power paver, skid steer, roller, raker and general labour on hand tools.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the asphalt/paving industry.
- Engage in physical labor including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Valid G-Licence required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop or jobsites.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
