SWT Group is currently seeking a full-time Division Controller to support the Finance department. The Division Controller is responsible for the full spectrum of accounting operations across multiple business entities (US & Canada). This role owns the integrity of the general ledger, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong multi-entity accounting experience with the ability to work effectively in a lean, hands-on environment with a willingness to travel occasionally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across all entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare annual budgets for all entities
- Manage the chart of accounts and ensure consistent application across business units
- Manage business partner credit process
- Reconcile inventory variances across multiple entities
- Coordinate with external accountants; prepare supporting schedules for externally prepared financial statements and tax filings
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee AP and AR functions, ensuring accurate coding, timely processing, and proper approvals
- Monitor cash flow and maintain cash management reporting for leadership
- Manage vendor relationships and payment terms
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, applicable federal and state regulations, and company policy
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support insurance renewals, workers’ compensation audits, and benefits billing reconciliation as needed
- Partner closely with HR on benefits, new hire/termination processing, and compensation planning
- Supervise or mentor accounting staff as the team grows
- Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to support operational decisions
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP B1 and Spreadsheet Server knowledge would be an asset)
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, ASPE, and U.S. payroll tax law
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple entities and competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred
- CPA license or actively pursuing
- Familiarity with multi-entity consolidations
- Exposure to 401k and US payroll compliance and taxation would be an asset
