Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Estimator – Project Coordinator-Ordering to join our construction team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in construction estimating, project management, and procurement processes. The successful candidate will support senior estimators and project managers by preparing estimates, coordinating project orders, and assisting with bid preparations. A strong foundation in construction principles, excellent organizational skills, and familiarity with industry tools are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather necessary data for pricing and estimation purposes.
- Support the review of project plans and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and material availability.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including compiling cost data and ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Manage the ordering process for materials and equipment needed for projects, ensuring timely delivery.
- Participate in negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Track project costs and update estimates as needed throughout the bidding process.
- Maintain organized records of project documents, correspondence, and pricing data for future reference.
Experience
- Prior experience or internship in construction estimating or project coordination is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar estimating software is a plus.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with vendors and team members.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving project requirements.
