Drop Marine, a manufacturer of industrial marine equipment serving commercial operators across marine, construction, and heavy industrial sectors, is growing its western Canada sales presence.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Sales Account Manager specializing in Marine solutions. This role involves managing client relationships, driving sales growth, and providing technical expertise to support marine industry clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background combined with excellent sales and communication skills, enabling them to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
This is a high-ticket, relationship-driven sales role. Deals range from the low six figures to $1M+. Sales cycles are long and consultative. This is not a high-volume transactional sales role It rewards reps who can build trust with technical buyers, stay close to deals over months, and close decisively when the moment is right. Drop Marine offers:
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
- Vehicle allowance and travel expenses covered
- Extended health benefits
- Direct access to leadership; fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment
- Opportunity to build and own a territory largely from the ground up
Duties:
- Be in regular face-to-face contact with customers and prospects; this is a field-heavy role, not a desk job
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with marine industry clients, understanding their technical requirements and business objectives
- Collaborate with engineering teams to customize product offerings based on client needs and technical specifications
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape within the marine sector
- Represent Drop Marine at industry events, site visits, and customer facilities
- Keep accurate, up-to-date records of pipeline activity and deal status
Territory/Location Information:
- Territory covers coastal BC (Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Sunshine Coast) with regular travel to Prince Rupert and other coastal industrial/marine sites
- Remote-based, with expectation of consistent in-region presence rather than office attendance
Minimum qualifications:
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally with technical or industrial equipment, capital goods, or heavy machinery, or hands-on mechanical/marine background (marine mechanics, fabrication, vessel operations, heavy equipment) with a track record or strong interest in moving into a sales-facing role
- A track record of closing complex, high-value deals and a demonstrated ability to build trust and communicate credibly with customers
- Comfortable in front of technical buyers (engineers, operations managers, procurement). You need to be able to go deep into product specs and mechanics independently, not just relay information from others
- Self-directed and able to manage a territory and a pipeline without close oversight
- Valid driver's license
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience selling into marine, construction, or heavy industrial equipment markets
- Background in capital equipment or long-cycle B2B sales
- Time spent on the tools (marine mechanics, fabrication, or vessel operations) is a strong asset even without formal sales experience
Pay: $80,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
- Are you currently located in, or willing to be based in, coastal BC (Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, or Sunshine Coast), with regular travel to other coastal industrial sites? (Yes/No)
- How many years of B2B sales experience do you have with technical or industrial equipment, capital goods, or heavy machinery?
- Describe your experience discussing technical product specifications — engine specs, hull dimensions, tonnage, or mechanical systems — directly with engineers or technical buyers.
