Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Associate’s key responsibilities are to facilitate ticket pickup and otherwise assist patrons during performances, actively sell theatre tickets to new and renewing subscribers and single ticket buyers as well provide the highest level of customer service that Theatre Calgary patrons have come to expect.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
As a key member of our performance-day team, you are the face of Theatre Calgary during our most exciting moments: showtime.
Patron Experience: Deliver world-class, professional service to every guest, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience from arrival to curtain.
Ticketing & Sales: Masterfully handle transactions—including sales, exchanges, and inquiries—with high precision and a proactive sales mindset.
Performance Readiness: Manage high-volume queues and pre-show operations, ensuring the lobby environment remains organized, efficient, and stress-free.
Organizational Advocacy: Act as an informed brand ambassador, sharing your knowledge of our productions and mission to deepen patron engagement.
Operational Precision: Maintain database integrity and accurate records within our Tessitura CRM.
Showtime Reliability: Remain composed and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment, serving as the primary point of support for patrons during busy weekend hours.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must haves:
Customer Service Excellence: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a high-volume customer service role, with a proven ability to provide world-class care to discerning patrons.
Communication & Sales Proficiency: Exceptional oral and written communication skills. You are comfortable and persuasive in telephone sales, including both inbound inquiries and outbound engagement campaigns.
Professional Agility: The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and remain composed and decisive in a dynamic, fast-paced theatre environment.
Interpersonal Impact: An enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with a wide range of patrons and internal stakeholders.
Organizational Rigor: Highly organized with excellent follow-through, ensuring every detail of the patron experience is handled with accuracy and care.
Technical Literacy: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Brand Alignment: A genuine knowledge of and passion for the work of Theatre Calgary, and the ability to act as an informed ambassador for our productions.
Nice to have:
Industry Expertise: Previous experience working in a professional theatre or box office setting.
Tessitura Proficiency: Familiarity with the Tessitura CRM environment; while not required, it is a significant advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is a flexible, part-time shift-based position that will require day, evening and weekend work. The successful candidate must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday during performance weekends.

REMUNERATION:
$17.00 per hour
This position is not eligible for any of Theatre Calgary extended benefits.
