Raise is currently hiring an IT Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.
Description
The IT Project Manager in this role will oversee and drive complex technology initiatives through all stages of the project life cycle. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end IT project management, ensuring seamless alignment with ’s operational processes, governance standards, and business priorities. You will lead cross-functional technical teams and business stakeholders to execute projects across diverse domains—including cyber security, information management, governance, infrastructure, and cloud solutions—delivering quality outcomes on time and within scope.
Responsibilities

Core Project Life Cycle Management

Initiation: Define project charter, align stakeholders, establish core objectives, and confirm project viability.

Detailed Planning: Develop integrated project plans, timelines, resource requirements, and work breakdown structures.

Execution & Oversight: Direct day-to-day project activities, assign tasks to core project team members, and ensure quality standards are met.

Monitoring & Control: Track performance, manage scope baseline, monitor expenditures, and implement change control procedures.

Closure: Conduct formal project closeouts, document post-implementation reviews, capture lessons learned, and transition deliverables to operational support.

Operational Activities & Delivery Processes

Schedule & Task Management: Build and maintain detailed schedules using MS Planner and Jira. Hold core team members accountable to deliverable timelines.

Agile & Traditional Cadences: Facilitate daily project stand-ups and prepare bi-weekly management status updates.

Knowledge Area Management: Execute robust project management processes across all PMBOK/ITIL domains—Scope, Integration, Time, Cost, Risk, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, and Procurement.

Governance & Controls: Actively log, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, action items, and key decision logs.

Financial Management: Utilize SAP to monitor project spend, track purchase orders, analyze financial data, and provide accurate budget reporting.

Reporting: Prepare clear, concise project status reports and compliance documentation required by project governance.

Qualifications
-
10+ years of direct experience managing end-to-end enterprise IT projects.

Proven track record of successfully delivering projects across multiple domains, including:

Cyber Security & Governance

Information & Data Management

Enterprise Infrastructure & Cloud Technologies

System Integration & Enterprise Software Deployments

Comprehensive understanding of enterprise systems, infrastructure architectures, cloud services, data management, and modern software/technology delivery methodologies.

Advanced hands-on experience using MS Planner and Jira for task tracking and schedule management

Direct experience leveraging SAP to access, review, and report on project financial metrics.

Strong interpersonal and people management skills with a proven ability to motivate cross-functional technical teams.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills; adept at bridging technical discussions with business outcomes for non-technical leaders.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with experience tailoring updates to senior management.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Asset: PMP (Project Management Professional), Agile/Scrum certification, or Prince2 designation.
