JOB OVERVIEW
FTAI Aviation is seeking a Transformation Manager to drive operational excellence and transformation at our Montreal maintenance facility. This role will own and execute site-level transformation initiatives, focused on productivity, flow, cost reduction, quality, on-time delivery, and production scalability across engines, modules and piece-part repair operations.
The Transformation Manager will lead and develop a team of Continuous Improvement professionals while driving facility-wide transformation projects, supporting rapid production ramp-up, shaping operating models, and leading the introduction of new products and technologies into production. This position requires strong leadership, structured problem solving, and the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, and scale a team of Continuous Improvement engineers/specialists

Define and execute a CI roadmap aligned with facility growth and operational priorities

Lead end-to-end facility transformation programs to support production scalability
-
Support rapid production ramp-up by improving flow, removing bottlenecks, and optimizing capacity

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve turnaround time, labor productivity, and throughput

Lead or support implementation of automation, data-driven decision tools, and advanced manufacturing technologies

Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions
-
Drive Lean / Six Sigma methodologies across the facility

Improve shop flow, layout optimization, and material movement

Develop, monitor, and drive accountability against KPIs for operational performance (TAT, OTD, labor efficiency, WIP, capacity)

Implement standard work and process discipline across operations
-
Lead value stream mapping and kaizen events
-
Drive sustainable cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety

Coach supervisors and operational leaders on CI principles
-
Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations leadership to remove systemic barriers and drive execution
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, or related field

7+ years’ experience in continuous improvement / operational excellence

Previous experience leading a CI team or operational excellence team

Experience in MRO, aerospace, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment strongly preferred

Strong Lean / Six Sigma knowledge (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred)

Experience supporting production ramp-ups and operational transformations

Experience introducing new products or technologies into production

Strong leadership, change management, and people development skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
