Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and medical supplies
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples for testing, including blood, urine, and tissue samples
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide client education on animal health, nutrition, and post-treatment care
- Assist with animal restraint to ensure safety during examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including treatment areas, kennels, and equipment
Skills
- Proven laboratory experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle animals gently yet effectively, demonstrating compassion and patience
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for record keeping and medication management
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
Ability to work collaboratively with veterinary staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
