We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively. The Construction Project Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering successful construction projects that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and support site supervisors, field crews, and office staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship, performance management, and day-to-day leadership to project teams.
Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and procurement plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and clients to ensure project requirements are achieved.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, productivity, and compliance with project specifications.
Administration & Reporting
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare project reports and forecasts.
- Review and approve change orders, invoices, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate schedules, project documentation, and daily reporting using construction software.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control project costs without compromising quality.
Communication & Coordination
- Function as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, subcontractors, site teams, and company leadership.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear, timely communication on progress, risks, schedules, and solutions.
- Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and professional service.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, building codes, permits, and company safety policies.
- Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment through regular inspections and proactive leadership.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in construction project management and site leadership.
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification (required).
- Extensive firsthand construction experience with a strong understanding of residential and commercial building practices.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, mentor, and motivate construction teams while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, inspections, and project schedules.
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and building codes.
- Solid understanding of project planning, budgeting, cost control, procurement, and resource management.
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC, Occupational Health & Safety regulations, and BC Building Code requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software - Buildertrend.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record and the ability to travel between project sites.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent project management training is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when required to meet project milestones and client commitments.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
