Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing reservations, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout their dining experience. This role is vital in setting the tone for a positive guest experience and supporting the overall operations of our restaurant. Prior hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred, but a genuine passion for guest service and strong communication skills are essential. The Host/Hostess will work closely with the restaurant team to maintain smooth seating arrangements and uphold high standards of hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Escort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback courteously
- Support the restaurant team in maintaining a welcoming environment conducive to guest satisfaction
Skills
- Excellent guest services and customer service skills
- Experience in serving or hospitality roles preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant procedures is advantageous
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is beneficial but not required
