Job Overview
Our client in Stoney Creek is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Order Picker to join our warehouse team. This role is vital in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, inventory management, and safe operation of warehouse equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse distribution, forklift operation, and order picking processes, contributing to a smooth and productive warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including Counterbalance, and other warehouse equipment, safely and efficiently
- Performing putaways in a timely manner
- Pick and pack orders accurately using warehouse management systems and order picker tools
- Be able to wrap/ build skids
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper handling of heavy items through heavy lifting techniques
- Lifting products 45-50lb and moving them through the warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning and updating stock levels within the warehouse management system
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met
- Assist in organizing warehouse space for optimal storage and accessibility
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during operations
Requirements
- 3+ years of Forklift Operating Experience (Counterbalance)
- Certified Forklift Operator
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and forklift operation
- Ability to operate other material handling equipment proficiently
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Prior experience with order picker equipment is preferred

Pay-rate
$22.20/hr
