Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accounting Technician or Senior Staff Accountant to join our Edmonton public-practice team.
There is no requirement to have your CPA designation.
The applicant can also be an undesignated Accounting Technician looking for more responsibility or new challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public practice and will have worked for a public practice accounting firm for a minimum of 3 years
Candidates with more experience and looking for a higher pay than indicated are welcome to apply as well
The ideal candidate:
- Has 3+ years experience in a public accounting firm;
- Detailed knowledge of accounting and accounting transactions
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to take on different tasks and independently solve the tasks
- Priority management, analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Commitment to professional and excellent client service;
- Experience with Caseware, Jazz-it, and Profile.
The Opportunity
You will work directly with our partners and senior team members on a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses and individuals.
The position provides the opportunity to take responsibility for complete client files, work on more complex accounting and tax matters, assist junior staff and progress into a reviewer or manager position.
Duties Include:
· Preparation of Compilation and Review Engagements in accordance with relevant professional standards and Firm policies
· Preparation of Corporate and Personal Income Tax returns
· Assist with tax, financial, strategic and estate planning solutions as needed
· Preparing GST returns, Payroll, T4’s and T5’s.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting
-3+ years in public practice accounting
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
