This is journeyman level position in the trade of Heavy Duty Mechanic.
We are looking for qualified heavy-duty mechanics to overhaul, repair and maintenance of heavy commercial and industrial vehicles including mounted equipment and attachments, heavy construction and agricultural equipment, and stationary power units equipped with complex hydraulic systems. As well as on highway vehicles.
Work is performed in shop or field job sites as required, and is subject to inspection during progress and/or upon completion. You will work under supervision of a garage foreman who outline procedures, especially if major overhauls are involved, but generally work is performed independently.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain & repair all trucks, trailers and reefer units
- Learn & use designated computer software
- Run Mobile Truck for field service calls
- Prioritize repairs accordingly
- Maintain a clean work bay
- On call rotation
- Excellent customer engagement is a must
All successful candidates must have:
· Journeyman Technician Certification
- 5 – 10 years related experience
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred class 1)
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License
- Analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals in English
- Computer proficiency
- Have his own basic tools
- Willingness to learn
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40 - $52 per hour depending on experience
