About the Role
Delton Cabinets Mfg. Ltd. is looking for a dependable and hardworking Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout our manufacturing facility and office areas. The successful candidate will take pride in their work, have strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently while maintaining high cleaning standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize offices, lunchrooms, washrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
- Restock washroom supplies as required.
- Conduct basic facilities maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and minor repairs.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins throughout the facility.
- Safely handle and store janitorial chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor duties, including snow and ice removal from customer entrances, sidewalks, and walkways during winter months.
- Complete other custodial and general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written) required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with janitorial equipment, cleaning products, and chemical handling procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail oriented.
- A valid Class 5 driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
