Since 1998, Tech-Wood Building Components Ltd. has been a trusted provider of Engineered Wood Products, Roof Trusses, Wall Panels, and Building Materials to Calgary and surrounding areas.
We proudly operate out of two locations — one off Peigan Trail and the other right off Glenmore Trail — serving our customers with integrity, teamwork, and a drive for excellence.

Your Role: Controller
This isn’t a sit-back-and-review-the-numbers type of role.
You’ll partner closely with our VP Finance and be right in the day-to-day — leading a small team, owning the numbers, and helping the business make better decisions.
If you like being hands-on, building structure, and having a real impact — this is that kind of role.
What You'll Own
- Own the accuracy of financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, year-end)
- Lead full-cycle accounting (and jump in when needed — this is a working role)
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support cash flow planning and business decisions
- Oversee compliance (ASPE, tax, audits, remittances)
- Work closely with operations, sales, and leadership to provide insight — not just reports
- Help improve processes, systems, and reporting (we’re always looking to get better)
- Support and mentor a small accounting team
What we’re looking for
- CPA (preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a similar environment is a big asset
- Strong full-cycle accounting background
- Comfortable working in the details and at a higher level
- Someone who can explain the “why” behind the numbers — not just the numbers
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Sage or similar systems
Most importantly — someone who is practical, collaborative, and takes ownership
