Duties
- Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials efficiently within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to accurately track stock levels and locations.
- Perform stock stocking, picking & packing orders, and order fulfillment to meet customer demands promptly.
- Conduct shipping & receiving activities, ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are correctly processed and documented.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance on warehouse machinery.
- Handle materials with care during manufacturing, construction, or distribution processes while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts for loading/unloading large or bulky items with precision.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and inventory audits using AS400 or similar systems.
- Assist in packaging products securely for shipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support warehouse supervision by adhering to warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and best practices for materials handling.
- Conduct property maintenance as required
Requirements
- Proven warehouse experience with familiarity in warehouse distribution environments.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment including forklift, reach truck, crane, pallet jack, and order picker.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and order accuracy.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving, stocking, picking & packing is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment and coordinate tasks smoothly.
- Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as crane or reach truck are a plus.
