About Us
Hot Buns Bakery is a busy, locally loved bakery located in the heart of Whistler. We’re known for our pastries, and grab-and-go treats that fuel locals, seasonal workers, and visitors year-round. We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Baker / Bakery Assistant to join our small, friendly team.
Position: Full-time (early mornings and weekends required)
Location: Whistler, BC
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production of pastries, cookies, and other baked goods
- produce crepes and waffles to order.
- Prepare fillings, toppings, and finishes
- Ensure products meet our quality, taste, and appearance standards
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Keep work areas, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and in good working order
- Receive, rotate, and store ingredients; help with inventory as needed
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and stocking display cases
- Provide friendly, helpful service to customers when needed (answer questions, take orders, etc.)
- Support the head baker and management with any other day-to-day bakery tasks
Qualifications
- Previous baking or kitchen experience is an asset, but we’re willing to train the right person
- Comfortable with early morning shifts and working on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move bags of flour and other items (up to approx. 20–25 kg)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, high-quality products
- Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain)
