Island EHS is a Vancouver Island-based occupational hygiene consulting company. We provide services to a variety of clients including:

We have an immediate need for a full-time entry level occupational hygiene technician to work in our Nanaimo office.
Responsibilities for this position include:
· Carrying out sampling services for clients and occupational hygiene work
· Air sampling
· Asbestos air sample analysis
· Hazardous materials surveys
· Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business
· Ability to complete work in a timely fashion
Although some experience in these areas is helpful we will provide the following training:
· Air sample collection
· Asbestos air sample analysis by PCM
· Hazardous materials surveys
· Inspections and associated reports
The successful candidate will require the following skills:
· Science or Occupational Health and Safety Degree or Diploma
· Excellent time management
· Fluency with Microsoft Office suite
· Good client relations
· Attention to detail
· Organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Technical writing skills
· Class 5 Driver's License
This is a permanent full time position and candidate must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Although no previous experience is necessary, a Science or Health and Safety background will be an asset and laboratory experience is a plus. The candidate must have a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance, as this job requires being on the road much of the day within the Central Island region. Mileage will be reimbursed.
