About Levven
Homes have been wired the same way for over a century. Levven is changing that. Our Switched Right system replaces traditional switch-leg wiring with wireless controls, dramatically reducing wire, speeding up builds, and making whole-home smart lighting standard rather than an upgrade. Over 7,500 homes across North America are already built on our platform, and we're just getting started.
We're a 48-person team based in Edmonton, growing fast with strong builder partnerships across Canada and the US. This is a hands-on finance leadership role where your work goes well beyond keeping the lights on; it shapes how we bring an industry-changing product to scale.
The Role
You'll own Levven's finance function, reporting directly to the CEO. This means full responsibility for financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and ERP operations across both our Canadian parent and US subsidiary. You'll lead a small finance team, work closely with our external accountants, and be the person the leadership team turns to for the numbers behind every operating decision.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (statutory and consolidated) for both Canadian and US entities
- Own intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and cross-border financial reconciliation
- Manage cash flow forecasting and proactively flag shortfalls or timing risks to the CEO
- Maintain and improve Levven's Odoo ERP system, ensuring it's properly configured and fully utilized by the team
- Coordinate with external accountants for year-end financial statements, SR&ED filings, and tax compliance (Canadian and US)
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets as the business scales
- Recruit, develop, and manage finance staff
- Support investor reporting and due diligence processes
- Track and report on OKRs and KPIs, using data to drive team performance and accountability
- Build financial models and analyses that inform pricing, costing, and operational decisions
What We're Looking For
- CPA designation
- 5+ years leading a finance department, ideally in a manufacturing or hardware environment
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Odoo experience is a bonus, but any modern ERP counts)
- Experience managing intercompany transactions with a US subsidiary, including cross-border tax considerations
- Strong Excel skills; SQL or BI tool experience is a plus
- Comfortable in a smaller company where you'll build processes, not just follow them
- Direct communicator who's honest, transparent, and accountable, even when the news isn't good
- Genuine interest in using data to improve how the team operates, not just to report on what happened
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting a company through fundraising, investor due diligence, or board reporting
- Familiarity with SR&ED claims or other Canadian R&D tax incentives
- Background in construction, building products, or IoT/hardware
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $105,000 to $135,000, depending on experience
- Extended health, dental, and vision coverage
- Disability and life insurance
- Flexible schedule
- Tuition reimbursement
- On-site parking
- Company events
We're not just growing; we're changing how homes are built. If you want to own finance at a company with that kind of mission, we'd like to hear from you.
