Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck and trailer repair and maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trucks and trailers to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Candidates with strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment are highly preferred.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Repair or replace faulty components such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilize welding and fabrication skills for repairs requiring metal work
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
- Assemble and disassemble components using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Perform CVIP inspections and repairs when required
Requirements
- Proven experience in truck and trailer repair and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance procedures
- Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and service information
- Experience with Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, Volvo, and trailer systems considered an asset
- CVIP license or inspection experience considered an asset
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license considered an asset
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently
