Lane Closure Technician (LCT) – Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Safeside Traffic Control LTD. is hiring experienced Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs).
This position requires full-time availability Monday to Friday and the ability to report to job sites anywhere between West Vancouver and Chilliwack.
LCTs play a critical role in operations and are responsible for operating company lane closure trucks, setting up advanced traffic control, and ensuring work zones are safe, compliant, and efficient.
This role is suited for highly reliable, experienced individuals who can work independently, take ownership of their role, and maintain strong safety standards at all times.
Only experienced LCTs will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Drive and operate company lane closure trucks to and from job sites
- Set up, maintain, and remove lane closures in accordance with Traffic Management Plans
- Install and manage advanced traffic control layouts, including multi-lane and high-volume roadways
- Ensure all signage, cones, and devices are placed correctly and safely
- Coordinate with TCPs, supervisors, and site contacts to ensure smooth traffic flow
- Monitor site conditions and make real-time adjustments as required
- Complete daily FLRAs and timesheets accurately and on time
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper use of company vehicles and equipment
- Follow all WorkSafeBC regulations and Safeside Traffic Control LTD. safety policies
- Arrive on site a minimum of 15 minutes early, fully prepared for shift start
Mandatory Availability & Travel Requirement
- Full-time availability required: Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
- Must be able to report to job sites anywhere between West Vancouver and Chilliwack
- Must be willing to work with all clients and job assignments as required
- Must be available on-call from 5:00 AM to 10:30 AM if not dispatched the night before, with the ability to respond promptly to dispatch communications
- Weekend work is optional
- This position is not suitable for part-time or limited availability applicants
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Traffic Control Person (TCP) is required
- Proven experience as a Lane Closure Technician (LCT) is required
- Valid TCP certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
- Strong understanding of lane closures and advanced traffic control setups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and highly dependable
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting equipment and standing for extended periods
- CSA-approved 6-inch steel-toed boots required
- Ankle-height boots are not accepted
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Schedule
- Monday to Friday (full-time)
- Start times as early as 5:00 AM
- Shifts may exceed 12 hours
- Hours vary depending on project requirements
- Weekend work available (optional)
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $26.00 per hour, with higher rates available based on experience
- Additional travel pay

Company Vehicle Policy & Expectations
- LCTs are assigned a company truck, which may be taken home
- All company vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking and dash cameras
- Vehicles must be used strictly for work-related purposes
- LCTs are responsible for the care, cleanliness, and proper operation of assigned equipment
- Fuel cards are provided and are for authorized company use only
