This Global innovative manufacturing company with a Head Office located in the GTA is looking for a full time permanent
Business Development Mgr – Fresh Produce Solutions. This individual will be bringing to market a new and progressive storing solution for Produce. This person can be located anywhere in North America or Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute sales strategies to introduce and grow our client's fresh produce solution in targeted markets.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with growers, packers, distributors, exporters, cold storage facilities, and retailers.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term growth and customer retention.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, contracts, and sales forecasts.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in accordance with company guidelines.
- Achieve established sales and profitability targets.
- Customer Engagement & Technical Support
- Understand customer operations and recommend solutions that improve product quality, extend shelf life, and reduce waste.
- Provide product presentations, demonstrations, and training to customers and distributors.
- Collaborate with the Technical Director and internal teams to address customer requirements and support successful product implementation.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate market requirements to support product enhancements and future development.
- Conduct market research and identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive activities within the fresh produce and post-harvest sectors.
- Develop strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders and channel partners.
- Represent Our Client at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events to enhance market awareness and generate leads.
- Identify opportunities for expanding into new geographical regions and market segments.
- Account Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities within the CRM system.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Customer Support to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Agriculture, Food Science, Engineering, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of business development, account management, or technical sales experience in a B2B environment.
- Experience in the agricultural, fresh produce, post-harvest, food processing, packaging, or related industries is preferred.
- Proven track record of developing new markets and growing customer relationships.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
